Brilliant Future For Handicrafts (We Could Make Difference)
The goal of the projects provided here is to support and grow artisan enterprises, and to provide best practice services to the organizations that support artisans.
Details of the Proposed Action Plan:
Here are some details of the projects intended,
- – Development of specific collaborations between five sub-regions.
- – Development of specific collaborations between WCC and the other international organization like WIPO, UNDP, UNESCO category-2 centers, etc.
- – Establishment of regional common Markets for promoting crafts.
- – Establishment of Block chain Markets using crypto currencies for handicrafts trading.
- – Establishment of advisory bodies like Digital Age Advisory Committee, Climate Change Advisory Committee, WCC Network of Facilitators, Foresight Advisory Committee, Micro Financing and Crowd funding Unit.
- – Revising all the policies, procedures, Byelaws to achieve an agile and smart organization who can render better services to its members.
- – Establishment of WCC Network of Facilitators: Training is very important for revitalizing handicrafts and making the artisans ready for new changes.
- – Handicrafts is one of the most important pillars in the “Creative Industries” and play a key role in creative economy; therefore, by making synergy between the different parts of this creative industries like cinema and handicrafts or handicrafts and animation, we can provide lots of benefits for the artisans around the world.
- – Development of specific programs to use modern technologies, artificial intelligence, etc. for the benefit of handicrafts.
- – Development of specific programs to preserve intellectual property right for handcrafts like safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage: Traditional Knowledge Craft.
- – Development of specific plans for the more connection between handicrafts and tourism and promoting artistic- tourism.
- – Launching a campaign and programming related activities to raise awareness and further support of the artisans (assessing needs, audience, potential partners, conduct research in terms of economics, developing new technologies for communication purposes).
- – Creation of a robust website and associated social media campaigns to disseminate artisan training and market information. It will also aim at bringing producers and buyers together. Members can easily share their case studies, stories, and best practices.
- – Hosting events for sharing information, showcasing the artisans’ works, and facilitating access to markets as well as supporting the artisans by the WCC organizations.

- – Paying attention and paving the way to hold Workshops for promoting the Certificate of Quality.
- – Promoting World Craft Cities & Villages as it was done in Iran.
- – Promoting International Geographical Indications.
- – Promoting World Craft Markets.
- – Promoting Seal of Excellence to promote crafts.
- – Working on Encyclopedia of Handicrafts.
Funding and Support Strategies :
Following funding sources will be utilized for achieving the aforementioned goals,

- – Sponsorship from various crafts related industries.
- – Receiving governmental financial support from the Asia pacific region.
Approach to Increasing Membership:
Following approaches will be adopted to increase the membership,
- – Building of an interactive website.
- – Development of a communications outreach strategy.
- – Recruitment of initial enthusiast members.
- – Creation of an information hub for anyone interested in the global artisan sector.
- – Building of a network for handicrafts start-ups.
- – Paying special attention to the craftswomen.
- – Inviting Handicrafts Trade Unions.
- – Attracting art students to conduct or compile research to document the historical and potential impact of the global artisan sector. They also can collect examples of best practices in handicrafts.
- – Publishing informative materials on WCC website for the interested groups.
- – Development of programs to further the visibility of the artisan sector through targeted media placements [and events outside of the artisan sector].
