BIOGRAPHY

Pooya is the current Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts in Iranian Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ministry. She was born in Tehran-Iran. She has a double major in Management and English Translation.

Besides, Pooya is an MBA holder from Royal Roads University in Vancouver, Canada. She is also graduated from Bordeaux University in France and now has a Doctor of Business Administration.

The connection of Pooya to craft is two decades old. Her entrepreneurial ambition has led her to establish a family charity organization in which handicrafts play an important role. Besides, for the first time, she implemented and organized the Seal of Excellence in Iran and most Iranian handicrafts activities (exhibitions, workshops, crafts cities, etc.) to promote quality handicrafts. One of the recent examples can be seen from her efforts to make certain cities and villages in Iran as art destinations. She has also encouraged the local crafters of Iran and was seen at multiple occasions honoring the crafters in award distribution ceremonies. It was the result of her dedicated efforts towards promotion of craft in Iran which ultimately led Iran to rank first at global level for the number of villages and cities being registered by World Crafts Council.

She has tried to go every day, just like on the first day with the same hope and motivation that led her to go through a path of empowerment in the field of handicrafts.
